Zygomatic implants are an alternative implant treatment that allows patients who have suffered severe bone loss the chance to receive implants. Placed the same way into the jaw as regular implants, zygomatic implants are longer and able to reach the maxilla (upper jaw bone). Two zygomatic implants are used with 2 to 4 conventional implants in the anterior area. With this patients who once weren’t able to receive dental implants can replace their full upper and/or lower arch!

Though the treatment may seem a little more difficult than the conventional implant procedure, it’s not much different. The zygomatic implant is anchored by the zygoma bone. With this implant, patients are able to have a secured foundation for dental implants!

Typically, the zygomatic implant procedure can take 4 months to heal; however, it does depend on the individual.
