She authored two theses; one on an In-vitro Study of Surface Alterations to PEEK and Titanium and its Effect Upon Human Gingival Fibroblasts and another one on the Effect of Sodium Ascorbate and Calcium Hydroxide on the Shear Bond Strength of Composite Resin to Bleached Enamel and Dentin. She served for a time as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan Dental School’s Department of Biologic and Materials Sciences & Prosthodontics in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Maryam was also a Guest Researcher at the University of Gothernbug School of Dentistry, Departments of Prosthodontics in Gothenburg, Sweden.

His affiliations include The American College of Prosthodontics, Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, Academy of Osseointegration, Chicago Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society and the American Dental Association. When he is not working, Dr. Peralta enjoys playing golf, snowboarding, collecting vintage sneakers and travel.
